Meet the team behind Santa on the Beach Pics

I started Santa on the Beach Pics in 2018 when I couldn’t find a dog-friendly place for my family Santa photos. My British Bulldogs, Winston and Jemima, were such a big part of our family (actually, they ruled it) so it would be strange to have a ‘family’ photo without them. After searching high and low for a solution without success, I decided to take matters into my own hands. With a background in marketing, community management and small business, it was time to put these skills to use!
I quickly pulled together a photographer, a website, council permits at Mona Vale and Bayview and a Santa set, and voila - Santa on the Beach was born. We’ve tried lots of different beaches on the Northern Beaches, North Shore and Central Coast over the years. It’s a business and keeps on growing year on year, as it turns out I’m not the only one who wants my 4 legged friends in my family Christmas photos!
I’ve now expanded my team of incredible family-friendly photographers, and try something new and different each year. Some ideas stick - others suck! But each year I learn a little more and hope to improve the experience for families who return year on year.
2024 will be my 7th year in a row - yes, we even found a solution during those Covid years! I just love seeing families return year on year and capture who they are and what their family looks like at that moment in time. I hope to see lots of familiar faces again this year, and meet lots of new families to start a fun, memorable Christmas tradition with their family.

Sophie has been shooting with Santa on the Beach Pics for 3 years now, and is an absolute energiser bunny (must be all that ultra-running she does!).
With dogs and kids of her own, Sophie knows how to handle the most chaotic of situations and make them look like a dream behind the lens. She has been a professional photographer for over 20 years, and has her own business, Images by Sophie.
